  1. this is extremely interesting to me, this streaming level design is in the current build? also at what size do your currently see performance issues? (thinking about max zoom-out distance) given a regular use of other props and models besides just the blocks - say 6 other npc models and 1 prop or other interactive model per 6 or so blocks.

and one thing I didn't see is are the locations of blocks saved somewhere so that if the character moves away and then moves back will all the blocks reload into the same locations?

    awaiting answer,

    thanks

  2. Hi,

Oh man it's a while ago now - but:

Block state is saved in memory, so changes made at runtime persist even when the physical block is removed.

The streaming aspect just impacts on the physical objects in the world, tied to that data.

Performance depends on device, but if I had to approximate... man i cant bring a number to mind sorry.

The system isn't super suitable for mega granular worlds (like Terraria); it's all based on game object prefabs (instead of combined meshes) - generally designed for small, curated levels.

Also as a warning; the tool is mega old, like... Unity 4.3 or so now - so I definitely advise picking up one of the newer tools.

However - super happy to just send you a copy so you can check out the logic. Just for fun.

Hit me up with your details on Twitter (@dopplerinteract) or contact.dopplerinteractive.Com

    Hope that's semi helpful!

(Typed with thumbs sorry - likely errors)
